Sports Injuries
The majority of sporting injuries are caused through overuse (a chronic injury). Those that are not caused from overuse are generally the more traumatic and are normally the result of an impact or twisting movement that is greater than the body can withstand (an acute injury).
If the pain from an injury doesn't go away you should get professional advice, either from a physiotherapist or your doctor. Continuing to train probably means you're making the situation worse, increasing the time it will take for a full recovery. However just resting may also be inappropriate.
Obviously the type of sport directly affects the injuries that you are likely to receive, the list below gives some idea of the injuries that we are regularly asked to treat
- Ankle sprains.
- Achilles tendon problems.
- Back problems.
- Elbow problems.
- Groin Strain.
- Hamstring Strain.
- Leg pains.
- Knee problems.
- Shin splints.
- Shoulder problem.
- Post-operative rehabilitation.
